It stood out mainly because it had all the necessary features that I was looking for but the price was 300 less than the Yaesu. There is a speech compressor built in too, and it can even be used with FM (which isn't such a good idea in either case). While good, it might behoove some users to purchase an audio-based DSP speaker. Well, it isn't! It is, however, a well-designed, 160 through 10 mobile transceiver. It requires a high quality sound device (internal or USB-interface) and PC specs as follows. In their words:The SDR system in DX-SR9 consists of I/Q signal output and a mixer circuit. It is best described as a software defined addition. The main difference is what Alinco calls I/Q.
